Warren Signs Letter Inviting Muslims to Love “god” Together

Posted by susanb99 on November 24, 2007

November 24, 2007

You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 6:14-15

From The Christian Post:

Christian leaders… responded to the unprecedented open letter signed… by Muslim leaders with their own letter, calling on the two Abrahamic faiths to love God and neighbors together…

Signers include Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners; Rick Warren, founder and senior pastor of Saddleback Church; John Stott, rector emeritus of All Souls Church in London; and Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals…

The letter’s main emphasis is the “absolutely central” commonality between both religions: love of God and love of neighbor.
