Purpose-Driven Satanic Churches?

Posted by susanb99 on July 29, 2007

July 29, 2007 — On this blog, Purpose Drivel, the author poses this question: “I wonder if they’ve [Saddleback Church] checked all these churches [on their site’s Church Finder page] to make sure they aren’t Purpose Driven satanist churches?”

You might think the answer would be a no-brainer, none of the PD churches could be worshippers of satan. But look at the facts about purpose-driven. On the PD FAQ page, the purposes of the PD Model are outlined. Included in the answers are:

…provides pastoral teams with a unique, biblically based approach to establishing…a congregation that seeks to fulfill the…purposes… [NOT biblically-based – see Parameters of Faith]

The foundation of the Purpose Driven model is the Bible [any “bible” will do – see Parameters of Faith]

…helps your pastoral team lead the members of your congregation toward a common focus that includes a foundational understanding of the Bible… [the Bible is unnecessary – see Parameters of Faith]

The Purpose Driven model is used by congregations around the world, including those large and small, denominational and non-denominational, charismatic and noncharismatic, new plant and well-established, urban and rural. [Warren will “work with anybody” – see Plant Churches?]

The only way PD could keep a satanic church from using the PD Model is to preach only the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But since the Gospel isn’t included and the Bible is optional, money is what it takes to implement the PD curriculum. Warren has been marketing purpose-driven to the Jews, people who don’t believe that Jesus is the Messiah, don’t use the Bible. It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump to sell the product to Mormons, Muslims, and yes, satanic churches.
