Passing the Buck

Posted by susanb99 on May 17, 2007

May 17, 2007 — In the current issue of Rick Warren’s Ministry ToolboxTM, we read

“Leaders accept the blame, but losers pass the buck.” – Rick Warren

It seems that again Mr. Warren has lost sight of what he says, and does whatever he wants.

Case in point: Chris Rosebrough of Extreme Theology, encouraged Warren to discipline Rupert Murdoch, a media mogul who makes profits on pornography. According to Warren, Warren is Murdoch’s pastor. Online Source Now if Warren practiced what he “preaches”, he would be truthful and take his lumps, right? No.

Instead, Warren had Saddleback Church’s chief of staff, David Chrzan, write a letter to Joseph Farah of World Net Daily (who had written a piece regarding the Murdoch mess), blasting Farah and Rosebrough. The Chrzan letter was posted on Warren’s spin doctor’s site, Mark Kelly’s blog, and then promptly removed a few hours later, which resulted in a screenshot of the offending article.

“Leaders accept the blame”. And Warren believes HE is a leader. Apparently not, going by his own criteria.
