The God Debate

Posted by susanb99 on April 9, 2007

April 9, 2007 (Newsweek) — In any discussion about God, one must first define which God one is discussing. I’m assuming that Rick Warren and Sam Harris, an atheist, were debating whether the true God, the One Who has a Son Jesus Christ, exists. Harris also mentioned Allah, the Muslim god, which he endevoured to make part of the discussion.

Warren did mention that Jesus Christ said He is the only Way to God (Page 5), he questioned Harris as to where “morality” comes from (from God, not evolution). But he also said that people, including Harris, who don’t believe in God have a “spark God put in” them that causes them to be altruistic (Page 8). That statement is one that I haven’t found in the Bible. And neither has Warren. It’s from New Age thought, of occult origin, straight from the mouth of Satan: “you can be as gods”.
