Rick Warren on Meet The Press

Posted by susanb99 on December 24, 2006

December 24, 2006 — Rick Warren, along with Jon Meacham, were interviewed by Tim Russert of Meet The Press, a weekly NBC political show. Even though Mr. Russert considers Warren to be a “conservative Christian”, Warren is no Christian at all. He is a blatant liberal.

One of the many claims Warren made (and there were many) was this quote: [James] Madison once said, “If you have one religion then you’ve got tyranny in a country.” He said, “If you have two religions, you’ve got civil conflict. If you’ve got many religions, you’ve got civil peace.” And I believe that the reason why faith has thrived in America is because we have a free market economy for religion, not just for economies, that may the best idea win.

For starters, the “Madison quote” is actually a quote by Voltaire, an atheist. Obviously Warren agrees with what Voltaire said, agrees that a country with one spiritual belief system is a tyranny. Warren has a track record for contradicting himself, and misquoting the Bible (and James Madison). To shoot holes in Warren’s flimsy foundation (built on sand – quite porous), using the United States of America as an example, what if all the people were Bible-believing Christians? Isn’t that what Warren is promoting with his purpose-driven network and P.E.A.C.E. plan? No, that’s not what he is focused on; he only wants the best idea to “win”. He is promoting a multi-religious diverse world, built on “good works” (his P.E.A.C.E. plan), without even a hint of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
