Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2nd Timothy 3:5

Plant Churches?

Posted by susanb99 on December 6, 2006

December 5, 2006 — Rick Warren’s P.E.A.C.E. Plan is an ambitious, global, one-man Show. It is interesting to see the details of this “Plan” change as time goes on:

Plant churches (spiritual emptiness)
Equip leaders (egocentric or corrupt leadership)
Assist the poor (poverty)
Care for the sick (disease)
Educate the nextgeneration (illiteracy)

The “P” stands for Plant Churches, which should address the Giant of spiritual emptiness. But now according to Warren, the “P” has been changed. It now represents “Partner With Local Churches”. See FOX video A Saddleback Church member states that We’ve gotten word from people on the staff that the “P” was changed, and it’s called partnering with other churches or religious groups.”

That’s quite a leap from “planting churches”. What happened to “spiritual emptiness”, the lack of reconciliation to God, ONLY through Jesus Christ? It is not biblically possible to go into a community to teach the PEACE Plan directives (a poor substitute for the Gospel) and to “relieve spiritual emptiness” by partnering with an existing church or mosque or synagogue. Are Budhhist temples and witch doctors included on the list of “partners”? Most likely.

As Mr. Warren says: “My philosophy is: We’ll work with anybody who we can work with on different issues. If you can only work with people you agree with completely, you’ve ruled out most of the world…” FOX video

You can certainly rule me out…
