For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is
the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Politics and Christianity on Charlie Rose Show

Posted by susanb99 on August 17, 2006

August 17, 2006 — Here is a quote from Rick Warren in his interview on Charlie Rose’s show:

“…protestants split into two streams, one of them took emphasis on the body and the other took emphasis on the spirit and it’s time to bring them back together… …some of them said in doing that [focus on the body] ‘we don’t need to focus on personal salvation anymore, we’ll just focus on redeeming the social structures of society’ and some of them went so far as ‘christian marxism’ in Christian terms… …who is right? well, they both are…. and they need to be brought back together.”Warren believes that Personal Salvation and Social Salvation need to be “brought back together”.

The Bible teaches ONLY Personal Salvation, and there is no “Social Salvation” so what’s to bring back? Salvation comes individually thru Jesus Christ, NOT thru redeeming the social structures of society.

It’s apparent now that Warren is VERY focused on Social Salvation, and models/teaches “socialization” through his P.E.A.C.E. Plan. Instead of “bring them [Personal & Social] together” as he claims, he has chosen sides, socialization, as the means of salvation. Warren doesn’t understand the purity of the Gospel; he only understands, “Well, this seems like a good thing.” (based on his words and his actions).
